Thank you for choosing Saltire Candy to fulfil your sweetest desires. Before ordering, please take a minute to read over our terms and conditions to ensure you are happy with the service we provide. Please note, by ordering item(s) from www.saltirecandy.com the customer is deemed to accept and understand our terms and conditions.
To make a purchase, please browse our store and add any items that you require into the shopping cart. If you are unsure of the ordering process please consult our buying guide section to help you choose the sweets that are right for you. After you have finished browsing and made your selection(s), click on ‘Checkout’ and you will be asked for a few details that are needed to complete your order. Next you will be directed to the secure online payment page.
Saltire Candy accepts secure online payments from major credit/debit cards through the 100% secure online payment systems of Stripe & PayPal.
Once you have selected your preferred payment option you will be given a final review of your order before committing to a purchase. Please read through the order carefully ensuring all the details are correct before continuing.
Once the payment has been processed and received, you will receive email confirmation of your order details and that it has been received by us. Once we have received payment and confirmed acceptance of your order, a legally binding contract now exists between Saltire Candy and the customer.
When we receive your order, we will check that it is correct and that all items are within stock. In the unlikely event, an item is out of stock, we would contact you to clarify if you would prefer the remaining order dispatched and the missing item(s) sent once in stock (at no extra postage charge), or if you would like us to hold your order until all items are available. If for a reason, we are no longer able to supply an item(s) we would offer a refund or a similar alternative. However, if supplying an alternative and it contains a price change, we would always contact you prior to dispatch to ensure the new price is acceptable.
If a mistake has been made during the ordering process and you are unable to correct it at the checkout, please contact us immediately and we will endeavour to correct the mistake before we send confirmation that the order has been dispatched.
We take immense pride in providing a bespoke personalised confectionery service, it is the customers responsibility to ensure all information supplied for confectionery personalisation (i.e. spelling of names & grammar) is correct at time of ordering as we are unable to check and verify details while assembling your order.
Unfortunately, Saltire Candy cannot accept responsibility for amending errors made by the customer during the ordering process after the item(s) have been dispatched.
Delivery Terms & Conditions
Standard UK Delivery
All deliveries are sent via Royal Mail tracking service or courier.
Our delivery structure is calculated for UK Mainland. Delivery to UK offshore destinations may incur an additional charge that we will contact you about if necessary. For any delivery queries please contact us.
We dispatch orders Monday-Friday (working days only). Your order should be delivered within 2-4 working days from the date of dispatch unless you receive a telephone call or email if any item is out of stock.
Smaller orders are sent via Royal Mail and larger orders via a courier which will require a signature on delivery, so please ensure that if you are not going to be available when your order may be delivered that you put any special instructions in the ‘Delivery Instructions’ box that is present during the order process. This will allow our courier to know what to do should you not be in and it may include instructions to leave with a neighbour or in a secure area. It is the customers responsibility to ensure the delivery information supplied is accurate, as Saltire Candy are unable to check and verify delivery addresses and messages supplied.
If you have requested that your package be left in a safe place, your courier or Royal Mail will endeavour to follow your instructions but if they believe the item may be damaged or that the location is not safe enough they won’t leave it. These instructions are provided at your own risk. You must ensure that this is a safe option for your delivery as Saltire Candy can’t take responsibility for orders that are asked to be left in places for your convenience and not signed for.
Failure to leave any special instructions will only delay the arrival of your order. If you are going to be out during the day why not have your confectionery delivered to your work address – a delivery from Saltire Candy will get you and your work colleagues taste buds tingling. If you are not available when Royal Mail deliver then they should leave a card providing instructions of when a re-delivery will be attempted or as to which local post office or depot your package can be collected from. If an order is returned because of a customer not collecting it from their local sorting office, then the customer will be charged the normal shipping fee for the order to be re-dispatched. This is the charge applied by the courier/Royal Mail and not Saltire Candy.
If your order is sent by courier you will receive instructions with your dispatch confirmation email on how to track the status of your delivery.
Your postage costs will be clearly viewable at the checkout and are calculated by the weight or volume of the items ordered. Please see guide below.

Express delivery service is available via Royal Mail special delivery or via courier. If you opt for the express delivery service your order will be with you within 1-2 days and all express deliveries require a signature on delivery.
Express delivery orders received on a Friday will be despatched the following Monday. If you require your order quicker please enquire at email@example.com and we will endeavour to help in any way we can. There may be an additional charge for this service.

We currently deliver to the following countries; Belgium, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Norway, Portugal, Spain & Sweden.

At Saltire Candy, we currently only routinely distribute confectionery within the UK and a selection of countries within the European Union. This is due to various individual country laws on importing of goods and import tax. However, one of our core values is that we will strive to ensure nothing is out of reach for the customer. With that in mind please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org regarding any international delivery and we will work out if it is possible and the full terms, taxes and shipping costs for you.
Your right to return goods are protected under the Consumer Contract Regulations 2013 and the following returns procedure must be followed. Failure to do so may result in us being unable to exchange goods or provide a refund.
You are entitled to cancel your order and return goods within 14 working days for a full refund, including the delivery charge.
Please bear in mind that all confectionery is perishable. Saltire Candy cannot be held responsible and hence provide refunds/exchanges on stock affected by circumstances beyond our control. This includes damage and neglect after goods are received. Please note goods being stored in adverse conditions such as extremes of temperature can be affected in a way that they may stick together or alter appearance slightly, however they will taste just as good. During summer months, goods in transport can be affected by warm temperatures so please be aware that delicate items such as chocolate may not always look as intended, but they will still taste exceptionally good.
All orders received from Saltire Candy should be checked and reported within 2 days of receipt if any part is deemed to be unsatisfactory.

Any goods returned should be in the original condition including packaging in which they arrived, along with a copy of the supplied invoice. Items will not be accepted if they are opened or removed from their original packaging.
Once the returned item(s) are received, they will be checked and a refund including postage will be issued where applicable. Refunds will be paid within 30 days. Saltire Candy are not responsible for the cost and risk of loss or damage when returning goods. When returning items, we advise postal insurance is selected to cover the value of the goods.
This cancellation policy does not affect your rights when we are at fault – for example, if goods are faulty or incorrectly described.
Due to the perishable nature of confectionery, we are unable to offer refunds/exchanges simply on unwanted goods. Saltire Candy can only offer refunds/exchanges on items that were faulty or incorrectly described at the time of dispatch.
Saltire Candy will only accept goods for refund/exchange that are supplied by us.
We are not responsible for any costs or losses incurred after original cost of item(s) and return postage.
No additional compensation will be available on goods returned other than stated above.
The terms and conditions above apply to your order and bear in mind they may change at any time. Please do not assume that the same terms will apply in the future.
Our terms and conditions are in place to offer a simple and fair policy to deal with complaints. None of these terms affect the legal and statutory rights of either party.
Please note, customers should be aware during the manufacturing and packaging process, every effort is taken to minimise the exposure of nuts and nut trace products from other confectionery. However, we cannot guarantee that any confectionery supplied is completely free of nuts and nut traces.
At Saltire Candy we understand that we live in a modern world of complex dietary requirements, therefore we endeavour to display all the ingredients and nutritional information contained within any confectionery product we sell. Ingredients are displayed within each product information section within the website and on the packaging used for your confectionery. Please note, as per EU food law requirements, any of the 14 major allergens contained within any confectionery will be highlighted in bold within the ingredients list.
We strive on customer service and ask if you have a special allergy or dietary requirement to contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will endeavour to help you with your confectionery needs. We have many contacts within the confectionery world and can attempt to source alternative products suited to the customer’s needs.
At Saltire Candy we aim to ensure your confectionery stays exceptionally good for as long as possible. All our confectionery is packaged in a clean, dry and hygienic environment and each product is assembled into an individual heat-sealed bag to lock in the yumminess!
On receipt of your order, we advise that you store items in a cool, dry, dark place away from contamination/odours and consume within 4 weeks to ensure you receive the greatest enjoyment from your confectionery.
Out of Stock Items
At Saltire Candy, we work alongside many suppliers and use our extensive contacts within the confectionery world to always bring you the best quality confectionery that endeavours to stand out from the crowd. Unfortunately, on rare occasions, an item or two may be unavailable due to factors out with our control. On the rare occasion this happens, the customer has the following options available to them:
Firstly, we would contact you to clarify if you would prefer the remaining order dispatched and the missing item(s) sent once in stock (at no extra postage charge), or if you would like us to hold your order until all items are available.
Secondly, if we are no longer able to supply an item(s), we would offer a refund or a similar alternative. We reserve the right to substitute any item with a similar alternative (i.e. type, flavour or colour) from a different manufacturer if necessary. When supplying an alternative and it contains a price change, we would always contact you prior to dispatch to ensure the new price is acceptable. Saltire Candy take pride in customer satisfaction, by ensuring that any alternative product still meets the Saltire seal of approval for quality, value and yumminess!
Payment & Pricing
All our prices displayed on our website are for the quantity or weight displayed. The price advertised is inclusive of VAT at 20%. The price shown does not include delivery charges, these are calculated at the checkout based on weight and delivery option selected and are clearly set out in our delivery terms and conditions.
Orders are only dispatched once payment in full has been received. We accept payments online through the 100% secure online third party payment system of Stripe or Paypal. Customers can also pay via BACS or cheque by contacting us at email@example.com and we will be happy to provide details. Please bear in mind, cheques would be payable to ‘Saltire Candy’ and would need to be posted to us and cleared via the bank before an order would be dispatched.
Occasionally, due to circumstances beyond our control, the cost of confectionery may increase. One of our aims at Saltire Candy is to provide a confectionery service that stands out and a key factor in achieving that is, we don’t sacrifice quality and value for the customer. To benefit the customer, we aim to absorb these costs as much as possible to offer the best value around. However, due to increasing costs in the confectionery world and to maintain our standard of quality, we may have to increase the cost of our items from time to time. Please note, orders placed before an advertised price is altered will not be affected.
