Welcome to Saltire Candy the online personalised confectionery shop. Our aim is to provide you with a confectionery service that stands out from the crowd.

With that in mind, we have designed our website and buying guide with the aim of making it as simple as possible to find the confectionery you love.

The guide below contains an overview and instructions on the ordering process. If at any time you need further assistance, please contact us at info@saltirecandy.com and we will be happy to assist.

Browsing & Searching Confectionery

There are 2 options available within the website for browsing and selecting our confectionery. Firstly, if you hover and select any one of the drop down boxes at the top of any page i.e. ‘Sweets’ or ‘Sweet Jars’. A drop-down list will then appear with various sub categories such as ‘Boiled sweets’ or ’Victorian Sweet Jars’. By clicking on the sub category, you are redirected to a page containing all the sweets available in that category. You will now be able to browse through the selection and view pictures of individual products until you find what you require.

Secondly, if you know the name of a specific product, you can use our convenient search tool which is viewable at the top right hand side of every page. Simply type in the product you are looking for and select search, a list will then appear of products available with that name or similar.

In the unfortunate event you are unable to find a specific product you require, please contact us at info@saltirecandy.com and a member of our team will be happy to help. When it comes to confectionery, no task is out of reach at Saltire Candy. One of our core values is providing a customer service that stands out. With that in mind, if you require a product that isn’t available, please feel free to contact us and we will endeavour to use our extensive contacts within the confectionery world to assist in any way we can.

Selecting Confectionery

Once you have found an item(s) that tingles your taste buds, you have the option to view the product in more detail. By clicking on the desired product(s) name or photograph from the list, you are then redirected to an individual product page. Within this page, you can view the ingredients including major allergens highlighted in bold, customer reviews and available quantity options. By hovering the mouse over the images of the product you can also view a zoomed view of the item.

At Saltire Candy, we supply confectionery in 4 main quantities:

  • 100g: Currently our smallest available quantity. This is a great option if you want to sample lots of different sweets or your taste buds are tingling to try something new!
  • 250g: A taste of nostalgia option! 250g is the closest metric equivalent to the traditional British ½ lb measurement used in old fashioned sweet shops stirring up those old childhood memories!
  • 500g: Our larger portion size. A quantity of your favourite sweets that will last for ages! Great for sharing with friends too.
  • 1kg: Our largest portion size for most products. This quantity of sweets will keep you going all year round! This size is great for candy buffets/filling sweet jars or a large group/party.

At Saltire Candy our aim is to meet your confectionery needs, with that in mind we can also supply bulk/wholesale boxes of most of your confectionery favourites. No quantity or order is too large for us and our bulk/wholesale range is growing all the time. Personalisation

At Saltire Candy, our aim is to supply confectionery that stands out from the crowd. With that in mind, we offer a confectionery personalisation service on most of our products. When viewing an individual sweet within a category i.e. 500ml Victorian Sweet Jar, if applicable there will be an option within the product description box for the customer to be taken to a personalised jar page. Here the customer can choose from a range of bespoke personalised jars suited to their needs with a comment box to add their own unique message. Hovering over the sample item photo, allows the customer to view a sample layout, font and size of the message before proceeding. Please bear in mind, personalisation is limited to a set number of characters, however we aim to provide enough space to write a message to someone special.

We offer personalised gifts in various forms including, ribboned gift bags, personalised sweet jars and much more. All products are tailored to the personalised needs of the customer. With that in mind, we believe anything is possible and if you require a specific personalised need, please contact us at info@saltirecandy.com and we will endeavour to help.

Adding Items to the Cart

Once you have finished browsing and your mouth is watering with the items you desire! You are now ready to add items to the shopping cart. To add items, please select any options that are applicable on the item, such as portion size, quantity, flavour and personalisation. On items where personalisation is available, these can be selected from the tick box option and the personalised message character box is completed at this point.

Please note, Saltire Candy cannot be held responsible for inconsistencies in grammar and spelling provided by the customer.

Once all the applicable options have been selected and you are happy with your purchase, simply press the ‘add to cart’ button to add items to your shopping cart.

When you select the ‘add to cart’ option, a confirmation screen appears and you have the option to ‘continue shopping’ by repeating the above process until you have selected all the items you require, or ‘Proceed to checkout’ to complete the order process.

Alternatively, you can select the cart or checkout icon displayed at the top right-hand side of every web page to proceed to the checkout process.

Checkout Process

Now that your mouth is watering and you can’t wait for your sweets! We only need a few details from you to complete your order. By selecting the ‘Cart’ option you are directed to a summary of your shopping cart contents. This summary allows you to delete items, amend quantities and check that your order is correct. Delivery costs are calculated on weight and destination. The delivery costs are clearly displayed at this point before proceeding to payment. By selecting the ‘Proceed to checkout’ option you are then directed to the checkout page to complete the order.

You now have 2 options to complete your order. The customer can either register an account or log in to an existing account. We recommend you create an account, as without an account you are missing out on great benefits such as: order tracking, faster checkout for repeat customers, order history and the option to subscribe to our weekly e-newsletter with great offers throughout the year.

Please note, Saltire Candy take customer privacy very seriously and if you create an account with us your name and address details are stored within your own private area under your account.

We now need to take a few details from you to finalise your order. At this point we need you to complete your personal and delivery details such as: name, address, postcode, email address and telephone number.

You will then be asked to confirm the shipping address, and you have the option to have the order delivered to the billing address by confirming the shipping address is the same for both.

If the order is a surprise or a gift for a friend, you can send the order to their address by completing the alternative shipping address details as appropriate.

At this stage, you will be able to select a preferred delivery option and if applicable there is a ‘Delivery Instructions’ comment box to allow you to add any special instructions for the courier i.e. a safe location to leave the parcel.

Lastly, in order to complete the order the customer will have to agree to Saltire Candy’s terms and conditions by ticking the box displayed ‘I’ve read and accept the terms & conditions’.

Order Confirmation & Payment

The final stage before processing of payment is a full order confirmation containing all details of your order and the full cost including delivery charge.

Please read through this section carefully ensuring all details are correct before proceeding to payment.

Once you are satisfied with your order and are ready to make payment, you can either pay via debit/credit card on our website using the highly accredited and secure third party payment agent ‘Stripe’ or via ‘PayPal’.

Saltire Candy accepts secure online payments from all major credit and debit cards.

Within our website if you choose to use the payment processing vendor ‘Stripe’ you will be asked to enter your card number, expiry and CVV ( card verification value).

Please note, this information is only held by the extremely secure Stripe payment processing vendor and at no time by Saltire Candy.

Once card details have been entered, the final step is to select the place order button to confirm your order.

If PayPal option is chosen you will be redirected to PayPal’s website. Within the PayPal website you will be asked for your preferred payment method and card details. Please note, this information is only held by the extremely secure PayPal payment processing vendor and at no time by Saltire Candy.

Once the payment has been processed successfully, you will receive on screen notification that your order is complete. The completed order details will also be emailed to the email address you provided.

Now that the order is complete, you can sit back, relax and try not to get too excited as you wait for your sweets to arrive!

Storage

At Saltire Candy we know how excited you will be to enjoy your sweets and with that in mind, we advise the following storage conditions to allow you maximum enjoyment of your order.

Please store all confectionery in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and consume within 4 weeks of receipt.
